ABOUT ME
Hello everyone!
I'm Arron, I've been fortunate enough to have grown up with the outdoors playing a significant role in my life. This led me to pursue a career as a wilderness guide, with a primary focus on sea kayaking. I absolutely love sharing my passion for the environment, and I hope to convey the joy it has given me.
I kicked off my career as a kayak guide in Tofino on the wild and wonderfully soggy west coast of Vancouver Island, where even the kayaks wear rain jackets. I fell in love with my role as a wild interpreter. Taking my first international job in the Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand added a whole new dimension to my guiding. I fondly remember that place and can't wait to return one day. Upon returning to Canada, I delved into the world of multi-day guiding in Desolation Sound in 2018. However, the magnetic pull of the west coast of Vancouver Island drew me back. I remained a guide on the west coast for a few years before seeking new horizons. In 2022, I ventured to the remote reaches of Tasmania for a season of unforgettable guiding experiences. Since my return, I have expanded my guiding reaches, with a particular focus on the captivating Haida Gwaii, a place that resonates profoundly with my love for the natural world.
The one piece of advice I would give is that tomorrow is the day that never comes. Take the steps toward your dreams today; it's the only day we can control.
